Classic Beef Stroganoff with Creamy Mushroom Sauce Bliss

This classic beef stroganoff is creamy, comforting, and perfect served over noodles for a cozy family meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 oz egg noodles, cooked
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add beef slices and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions and mushrooms until softened.
  4. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard.
  6. Return beef to the skillet and simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream.
  8. Season with salt and pepper.
  9. Serve over cooked egg noodles and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Use tender cuts of beef for best results.
  • Do not boil after adding sour cream to prevent curdling.
  • For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp water and stir into the sauce.
