Description

This Cabbage Kielbasa skillet is a 30-minute comfort meal full of smoky sausage and tender cabbage. Quick, hearty, and family-approved!


Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • 1 (14 oz) package kielbasa, sliced into rounds (use turkey or chicken sausage for a leaner version)

  • 1 small green cabbage, cored and sliced thinly (about 6 cups)

  • 1 large onion, sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced ([see our guide on how to mince garlic])

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 2 cups diced potatoes for a heartier version

  • ½ tsp caraway seeds for a traditional Polish touch

  • A splash of soy sauce for umami flavor


Instructions

  • Slice and prep ingredients.

  • Sear kielbasa until browned; remove.

  • Sauté onions and cabbage with spices.

  • Return kielbasa, toss, and finish cooking.
